Biden calls for people to ‘lower the temperature’ in US politics following Trump rally shooting

US President Joe Biden has called for people to "lower the temperature" in America's politics following the assassination attempt of Donald Trump.

"We're not enemies; we're neighbours," President Biden said during a media conference on Monday.

"We must stand together – yesterday's shooting at Donald Trump's rally in Pennsylvania calls on all of us to take a step back, take stock of where we are, how we go forward from here."
