Donald Trump cuts US funding to the World Health Organisation - Today's Biggest News

US President, Donald Trump is pressing pause on funding to the World Health Organisation, and this is a big deal. You see the World Health Organisation was set up in 1948 to keep the world healthy and stop the spread of diseases. But the WHO relies on funding from all of its members, and the US provides a serious chunk. Last year it gave more than 600 million dollars to the WHO, more than any other country, but now, it plans to scale that back to, well zero. President Trump says the WHO covered up the spread of the virus and was against banning travel to China and those things caused a lot of unnecessary deaths.

But Donald Trump's been criticised himself for the way he's handled the outbreak. Right now, the US is the worst affected country in the world. The World Health Organisation says now is not the time to cut funding. It says in the middle of a pandemic they should get the funding.

NO NEW EMOJIS
The group in charge of making emojis has announced there will be no new ones in 2021. The Unicode Consortium said that because of delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic they won't have enough time to develop new emojis by the start of next year. But this won't affect the new emojis that were announced at the start of this year for 2020. They'll still be coming out in September. So we've got something to look forward to!

WANDI THE DINGO
A young dingo called Wandi has become an internet sensation after he was first rescued 6 months ago. Now his celebrity status is helping create awareness about the species and giving us lots of cute videos. Wandi is thought to have been dropped by an eagle into a backyard in Victoria.

The tiny dingo was then taken to the Dingo Discovery Sanctuary, Research and Education Centre in Toolern Vale. Six months on, he's fitting in well and has made friends with the other dingoes. Wandi is also helping create awareness about the plight of his species in the wild with his large Instagram following. He’s also being trained to be an ambassador dingo at the sanctuary to teach people about the dingoes.

WOMBAT IN CARPARK
A wombat went for a stroll through an empty airport car park in Tasmania. Apparently, the marsupial's pretty friendly with airport staff and has made itself at home in the area.

When you're confident sometimes it is your day. Even when it's technically not. Riley the retriever thought applause for carers in the UK was actually for him.
