As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. What is our purpose in life? Many of us have probably pondered over this question before — perhaps even before we were believers. As human beings with limited foresight, the concept of purpose may seem elusive to us. Yet as we look to the Word of God, it commands us in no unclear terms to follow after Him, and to pursue and honour God in every aspect of our lives. Jesus invites us to live a surrendered life, where purpose can be found in light of what He has done for us on the cross. Jesus invites us to participate in His grand plan: to be His ambassadors and reveal Christ to a watching world. So as Jesus calls — however that may look like — may we respond not in refusal, but in wholehearted surrender.
